Gavin and Stacey Star Returns in Hilarious New BBC Comedy

This month, Here We Go’s third season will air on BBC One and iPlayer, bringing another round of happiness, aggravation, and all-around turmoil to the Jessop family in six fresh episodes.

This popular television series focuses on a family consisting of parents Paul (Jim Howick) and Rachel (Katherine Parkinson), their children Amy (Freya Parks) and Sam (Jude Morgan-Collie), along with their grandmother Sue (Alison Steadman).

Completing the principal characters are the series architect, Tom Basden, portraying Katherine’s bumbling brother Robin, and Tori Allen-Martin, a former London Kills actress, as his cherished spouse Cherry, who found herself pregnant at the conclusion of the second season.

Each installment of the critically-acclaimed show delves into their hectic lives, using a unique approach through Sam’s documentary-like home videos. The videos are strategically edited to form three interwoven narratives that unfold simultaneously. Quentin Tarantino, pay attention!

Looking forward to meeting up with the Jessops again? Save the date – it’s Friday, 25th July 2025! Starting at 9pm on BBC One, a double feature will commence. And if you can’t wait, all six episodes will be available on iPlayer from that very same day.

Here We Go signals a significant convergence of British humor icons, as Steadman emerges following the much-anticipated finale of Gavin & Stacey, in which she brilliantly portrayed the character of Pam Shipman, the beloved matriarch of the family.

The show attracted an impressive 19.3 million viewers within its first week of release, garnering praise from both audiences and critics due to its touching conclusion to the Gavin & Stacey narrative.

In the ensemble of Here We Go, Steadman isn’t the sole comedy heavyweight. Additionally, Howick and Parkinson have impressive resumes in comedy as well, thanks to their previous triumphs on BBC One’s Ghosts and Channel 4’s The IT Crowd.

Moreover, Parkinson has received a BAFTA nomination for her performance in the tongue-in-cheek satirical drama Rivals (available on Disney Plus), and she has also signed up to star in HBO Max’s Harry Potter series, where she will portray Ron Weasley’s mother, Molly.
