Good news for fans eager to learn more: details about the multiplayer mode in the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day have been revealed.
Nicole Fawcette, a brand director, has promised more details are coming soon. She told Eurogamer that they intentionally didn’t share much about multiplayer features in the first reveal, wanting to highlight everything else the game offers.
We’re excited to finally share gameplay footage! This is the first time anyone is seeing how the game actually plays, so we wanted to establish the world, characters, and story first. Our initial trailer was designed to be a cinematic introduction, and we have much more to reveal. Considering how crucial story and setting are to a game, that makes sense.
Despite everything, this is great news, especially considering the confusion around whether the game would be exclusive to certain platforms, which had lessened the excitement after the recent presentation. Even better is the possibility of playing the campaign with friends, letting you and your team control Bravo Squad.
The best games blend how you play, the story, and the characters together. Even in multiplayer modes, like in Gears, you’re still playing as established characters who have distinct personalities. When you have four players interacting as these characters, with all the different game mechanics, it creates a unique and engaging experience.
We’re holding off on a full announcement until we have more details, but there’s already plenty to be excited about – the game features completely new content and a lot of innovative gameplay elements.
The new game, Gears of War: E-Day, will be available on October 6th for Xbox Series X/S and PC. So far, the developers have announced the return of the popular Versus multiplayer mode with updated maps, and the Horde mode. Horde has been significantly expanded with a new mode called Siege, allowing teams of 12 players – split into three squads – to fight the Locust in an urban environment.
