Season 2 of Gen V arrives on Prime Video this week, and early reviews are overwhelmingly positive, with many critics giving it perfect scores.
What are the Gen V Season 2 reviews saying?
The second season of Gen V got off to a fantastic start on Rotten Tomatoes, initially earning a perfect 100% score. While the rating has settled to the 90s with more reviews coming in, critics are still overwhelmingly positive about the new season, which begins streaming on September 17, 2025.
In a review for Variety, Alison Herman highlighted the strong social commentary continuing in the second season of The Boys, and praised the spin-off Gen V. She noted that the show focuses on its heroes – good people trying to understand what true heroism means, even when it’s complicated – and that it handles this challenge successfully.
James Hunt from ComicBook also really enjoyed the second season, describing it as “bigger and more violent,” and even suggesting it could be better than *The Boys*. *The Boys* itself is highly acclaimed, consistently receiving scores above 90% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Season 2 of Gen V features Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer, Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap, and London Thor and Derek Luh both playing Jordan Li. Asa Germann plays Sam Riordan, while Sean Patrick Thomas and Hamish Linklater star as Polarity and Dean Cipher, respectively.
Michele Fazekas is the showrunner and leads production, with a large team of executive producers including Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, and many others. Loreli Alanís, Gabriel Garcia, and Jessica Chou are co-executive producers. The series is a collaboration between Sony Pictures Television, Amazon MGM Studios, Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.
