It’s been seven years since ‘Ocean’s 8’ hit theaters, and even longer since George Clooney was in an ‘Ocean’s’ movie with ‘Ocean’s Thirteen.’ But a new installment in the popular heist series appears to be in development.
The upcoming movie will bring back George Clooney as Danny Ocean, and it will show the crew attempting another heist, but this time, they’re older and not as quick as they used to be.
So, I just read a fascinating interview with George Clooney in Variety. Apparently, they’re revisiting the classic 1970s comedy, Going in Style, with a new take. Clooney let slip who from the original cast we can expect to see join him in this update – it’s exciting news for fans of the original!
The article states that Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, and Don Cheadle are all set to reprise their roles in the next installment. Filming locations are currently being scouted, with a planned start date in October 2026.

George Clooney explained to Variety that he was drawn to the concept of aging spies who, while not as physically capable as they once were, still possess the intelligence to pull off one last job. The idea that they’ve slowed down and have to cleverly overcome their weaknesses really appealed to him.
It’s unknown if other actors from the original films, like Andy García, Elliott Gould, or Casey Affleck, will return, based on who Clooney has mentioned.

George Clooney is working on a new Ocean’s movie, and another film is also being developed. This second movie is a prequel set in Europe during the 1960s and will be directed by Lee Isaac Chung.
Originally, the movie was planned to reunite Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, but now Bradley Cooper will star alongside Robbie instead. Gosling is no longer involved in the project.
The latest installment in the Ocean’s series, Ocean’s 8, featured Sandra Bullock playing Danny’s sister, Debbie, alongside a star-studded cast including Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna, and Helena Bonham Carter.
