George Kittle makes no compromises, always investing in keeping his body at its best during the football season.
Speaking on the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast on June 24th, the San Francisco 49ers tight end, who is 31 years old, estimated that he spends between $150,000 and $200,000 per season on his health and fitness routine. He added that this figure, when combined with additional expenses, amounts to an extra $200,000.
Co-hosts Will Compton and Taylor Lewan inquired whether it was approximately $500,000 per year that Kittle was being paid solely for maintaining his fitness.
Kittle emphasized, ‘At the very highest, it’s $250,000.’ He explained that since he no longer has to cover various expenses that he used to incur, this amount represents his savings.
Kittle detailed how his financial commitments encompass the Vasper System, red light therapy, stem cell treatments, intravenous therapies, among other health-related investments. Notably, Kittle’s healthcare expenses have seen some reduction due to his collaborations with brands that promote wellness and sustainability in his lifestyle.
He mentioned that the recent endorsement with a stem cell brand, which he finds valuable despite its high cost, significantly reduces his expenses. In simpler terms, he referred to it as a “substantial savings.
Kittle’s desire to make sure he remains fit came after he suffered from a foot injury back in 2020.
He found himself in a tough situation following the 2020 season due to a broken foot. This setback caused him some difficulty, leading him to think, “Wow, I truly need to focus on this.” As a result, he became deeply involved with stem cell research. Every year, he undergoes a brain scan as part of his commitment to maintaining his health.
Kittle added that he was “happy to report” that his brain scans have come back “good.”
He expressed that he’s doing well in maintaining his health, and at the moment, he isn’t overly concerned about his fitness level impacting his ability to continue playing football. However, he acknowledged that eventually, it could become an issue. To mitigate this, he tries to prepare as effectively as possible.
Beyond employing top-notch technology and therapies, Kittle not only equips himself with a personal home gym but also graciously invites fellow NFL players to make use of it during their downtime in the off-season.
Every morning, I kickstart my day with breakfast between 8:30 and 9 a.m., followed by workouts at 9:15 sharp. Typically, we begin with weightlifting exercises, but if C.J. Beathard feels like throwing some passes before that, we’re flexible enough to adjust our routine slightly. And let me tell you, those workouts often stretch for an hour and a half!
Kittle remarked that it was fun having “around ten to twenty individuals” at his place, often referred to as The Barn. Following some intense indoor exercises, Kittle and his companions would head outside for an hour or so, where they’d practice drills on the field. Three times a week, they would focus on improving their agility by running routes.
Speaking about his dedication, Kittle expressed that there’s nothing more disheartening than starting a training camp without feeling physically prepared.
Since 2017, George Kittle has been part of the San Francisco 49ers team. Before the 2025 season kicked off, he agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $76.4 million, with a guarantee of $40 million.
