Rather than showcasing Atsu’s lethal skill with an unusual weapon, Sucker Punch’s newest video for Ghost of Yōtei offers a tranquil perspective. It’s approximately ten minutes of exploring the scenic landscapes of Ezo, the backdrop for the open-world game, accompanied by Tomo Otowa’s “The North.
In the breathtaking landscapes of Ezo, where lush forests meet snowy peaks and fields bursting with flowers lie, it’s a spectacle to behold. Yet, beauty often coexists with peril, as Atsu soon discovers upon entering this land. Her mission – tracking down the Yōtei Six – becomes complicated by mercenaries hot on her trail, pursuing the reward on her head. However, Atsu is no pushover, ready to protect herself with her formidable arsenal, which includes dual blades, the odachi, firearms, and other weapons.
Based on Atsu’s choice of locations to uncover clues, her exploration of Ezo could follow distinct routes. Additionally, she has the freedom to traverse the land on her horse, immersing herself in the surroundings and scenic beauty. The movie Sucker Punch aimed to authentically portray Hokkaido, providing more details which you can find here.
The spirit of Yōtei, titled as such, is set to debut on October 2nd for PlayStation 5. Keep a lookout during the upcoming Tokyo Game Show later in the month for further information.
