Charlotte Ritchie is a familiar face on TV, having played main characters in hit shows like Ghosts and Feel Good. Now, she’s taking the lead in a new film.
The film features a talented cast including Tanya Moodie (known from Motherland), Nicholas Asbury (37 Days), Raj Ghatak (Dead Set), as well as Luke McQueen, Nick Helm, Rachel Stubbings, Jack Barry, Georgie Jones, and Simon McCoy. You can get a sneak peek at the movie by watching the short teaser trailer below.
The trailer begins with Ritchie’s character sharing a quote from Mariah Carey: she simply wished for a day to swim, enjoy ice cream, and watch rainbows. This is immediately followed by a clip of a large explosion.
After sharing what happened on social media, the character quickly gains a large following, even receiving a retweet from Rita Ora. However, this also has serious consequences, as it reveals their hiding place to those responsible for the bombing, putting everyone in danger.
Following a frightening explosion at a London hotel, three people unexpectedly find themselves on the run together, forced to take refuge and hide in a single room.
Hostages explores the fast-paced world of 24-hour news and questions if social media sometimes takes priority over human life.
