Gigi Hadid is setting her daughter up for success.
As students resume their studies for the fall, the model sent her 4-year-old son Khai, whom she shares with ex Zayn Malik, off to school with a packed lunch and some comforting words of support.
On September 4, Gigi posted a photo on Instagram Stories showcasing the contents of Khai’s pink lunchbox. Inside, there was a sandwich without crusts, an apple, carrots, and some sprinkle cookies for dessert. Additionally, she included a sweet handwritten note for her daughter that read, “First day back at school! So proud of you.” The mother of one is 30 years old.
Gigi ended by drawing a heart as she signed the note, “Mama.”
As I eagerly follow Khai’s journey into a fresh phase, it strikes me that there could be one subject she might excel at naturally – music. After all, with a pop icon dad and hints of her inherent musical prowess teased by Zayn himself, it’s not hard to imagine the melodies she might weave!
During his interview on The Zach Sang Show in May 2024, Zayn noted that while she’s not yet at an expert level, she displays a certain beat and flair when playing the drums, indicating a potential for further growth and development.
However, interestingly, the former member of One Direction confessed that his ex-girlfriend, who was with him intermittently from 2015 to 2021, might be the source of Khai’s developing musical talent.
He mentioned, “Her mother turned out to be quite skilled at Guitar Hero on the drum set, which made me think, ‘Perhaps she inherited that talent from her mom.’ I was quite proficient but G always defeated me. Interestingly enough, I’m a musician, yet she managed to beat me at this game!
But it’s safe to say Zayn, 32, can take the credit for Khai’s emerging vocal skills.
He was amazed, exclaiming that she memorizes entire songs perfectly, never skipping a single word. Not only can she sing the whole song, but she even manages those quick, melodious embellishments – three to four notes in a single recording – seamlessly.
