Gigi Hadid Tears Up Over “Hard” Scrutiny When She Started Modeling

Gigi Hadid is grateful for her guardian angels.

The supermodel became tearful when remembering the start of her career, explaining that landing her first Victoria’s Secret show in 2015 felt like a dream realized.

Gigi was emotional as she spoke about a friend’s success in a video posted on October 10th. She explained that her friend really wanted the job and faced a lot of rejection, attending many auditions and trying out several times before finally getting it. Gigi remembers a difficult time for young women in general, and how the world was particularly critical during that period.

But 10 years later, Gigi now realizes that she was actually “the s–t.”

Honestly, it was an incredible experience! I truly felt I earned my place on the Victoria’s Secret runway, and I’m so grateful to be returning. Seeing that first model walk was really special – it made me think of my younger self, the teenager who used to dream of being part of this show. It was a full-circle moment, and I’m just so happy for everyone involved.

She described sharing the Victoria’s Secret runway with her sister, Bella Hadid, over the years as something like a dream come true.

Seeing my sister confident and radiant, especially when she’s having fun and looking her best, is a real highlight for me,” the 30-year-old explained. “It feels like a dream fulfilled.

Now that she’s a mom to 5-year-old Khai, with her former partner Zayn Malik, Gigi Hadid sees the show in a new light. She explains that having a child changes how you experience everything.

She described her work as incredibly glamorous, fun, and exciting, especially with all the sparkly costumes. She was thrilled to share this with her daughter, Khai, who was just as enthusiastic about the outfits as she was.

Gigi added, “The VS show is one of those things that still makes my heart beat really fast.”
