Glen Powell Reveals His Ultimate Dates at the Golden Globes 2026

The 2026 Golden Globes were a touchdown for Glen Powell.

Glen Powell, known for his role as Chad Powers, went to the awards ceremony on January 11th, where he was nominated for Best Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy. He brought his parents, Glen Powell Sr. and Cyndy Powell, as his dates.

Glen playfully told Zuri Hall on Live From TopMob: Golden Globes 2026 at the Beverly Hilton that it used to be difficult to get nominated for a Golden Globe, but now they’re a regular occurrence.

He also mentioned his mom was an extra in the film Chad Powers, though she wasn’t nominated for an award. He joked it was a major oversight, but she did have a memorable appearance.

Glen’s dog, Brisket, could also appear in a future cameo. However, Glen joked that his terrier-poodle mix isn’t very trainable.

Glen mentioned that brisket will likely appear in an upcoming project. He jokingly added that no one in his family—even his Aunt Honey’s pet kangaroo, Trixie—is well-behaved.

The actor from Set It Up was thrilled to be nominated for a Golden Globe in the comedy category. He was especially excited to be recognized alongside Steven Martin and Martin Short from Only Murders in the Building, as he said they were a big inspiration for him getting into acting. He simply expressed how happy he was to be nominated with them.

Glen is nominated alongside Adam Brody (from Nobody Wants This), Seth Rogen (The Studio), and Jeremy Allen White (The Bear). He previously expressed his excitement about the recognition his work on Chad Powers received.

He shared on X that he was incredibly grateful for the nomination, especially because the show is so important to him. He also said it felt unreal to be nominated alongside comedians he’s long admired.

As an actor, you’re only as good as the people you work with, and I’m lucky to work with the most talented cast every day. This team consistently left me feeling happy, physically exhausted from laughing, and grateful for my job.

However, the show wasn’t without its challenges. During filming, he had a minor health scare, likely caused by the weight and discomfort of the elaborate costumes and makeup he had to wear.

You won’t BELIEVE what I saw! He was telling TopMob News all about it – he’s seriously dedicated. He said he’s got a helmet, a wig, and the mask on, and he’s just… running this one football play, again and again and again. It’s incredible, honestly! He’s completely lost in it, perfecting every single move. I could watch him do it forever!

“I got to the end of it, I throw this touchdown,” he recalled. “I scream and I black out.”

Glen explained that he had a blackout, where he lost consciousness but stayed on his feet. He only realized something was wrong when he came to and noticed everyone was looking at him.

“It was bad,” he added. “It was crazy.”

Luckily for Glen, there were no prosthetics he needed to worry about on the red carpet.
