Though it finished airing in 2016, Gravity Falls remains incredibly popular with Disney fans, becoming a beloved classic. However, not everyone understands the show’s complex stories about Dipper, Mabel, Grunkle Stan, and their adventures. Recently, a fan shared a piece of Gravity Falls merchandise online, claiming it was ‘demonic,’ which even caught the attention of the show’s creator. While The Book of Bill was intended to offer deeper insight into the show’s main villain, it was unfortunately misinterpreted, causing some unexpected controversy for the series.
A social media user recently found the Gravity Falls book at Walmart and mistakenly believed the store was selling “satanic material.” While the character Bill Cipher is definitely a villain and featured some scary imagery in the Disney series, many pointed out he wasn’t the devil himself. The book’s creator, Alex Hirsch, playfully responded to the controversy, jokingly encouraging people to buy multiple copies just to burn them! The claim that the Gravity Falls book contained demonic imagery quickly spread online, but was even debunked by X’s Community Notes.
Wow, this is unbelievable! I suggest everyone purchase a copy just so they can destroy it. Maybe even ten copies, to be extra sure!

What is The Book of Bill?

If you enjoyed Gravity Falls and haven’t read the Book of Bill yet, it dives deeper into the history of Bill Cipher. Bill is a powerful, triangular villain who can warp reality and has a complicated connection to the Pine family. Like the original series, the book is full of mysteries and hidden clues. Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll find in the Book of Bill:
If you were a fan of Gravity Falls, you’re in for a treat! Alex Hirsch has brought Bill Cipher, the show’s biggest villain, back with The Book of Bill. It’s Bill’s chance to tell his side of the story – how he became so evil, and his impact on history. But this isn’t just a retelling; it’s an interactive experience packed with puzzles and codes created by Hirsch himself. This is Gravity Falls like you’ve never seen it before. Inside, you’ll discover Bill’s strange beginnings, embarrassing secrets about the Pines family, and even a guide to taking over the world! It’s filled with mind-bending riddles, impossible ciphers, lost pages from Journal 3, and even a chapter dedicated to Silly Straws. Oh, and be warned: The Book of Bill is seriously cursed!
The World of Gravity Falls Might Return

Although a sequel to Gravity Falls isn’t officially happening yet, talks have begun about potentially bringing back the Mystery Shack. Last year, Meredith Roberts, a Disney executive, revealed that she and series creator Alex Hirsch have been discussing the possibility. Roberts mentioned they are working together on a book and some short films, leaving the door open for more Gravity Falls in the future, stating, “Never say never.”
There’s a lot of potential for future adventures with Dipper and Mabel! Even though the summer in Gravity Falls ended, the show could return for another season. After their epic battle with Bill and saving the universe, the twins went home, Soos became the manager of the Mystery Shack, and Grunkle Stan finally got to go on a sailing trip with his brother. It’s exciting to think about where a sequel could take place – maybe a year after the original finale, or perhaps much further in the future, mirroring how much time has passed since the show aired.
