Green Arrow is Officially Coming to DC’s Absolute Universe

DC Comics is broadening its Absolute Universe by introducing a new superhero into the mix – the upcoming “Absolute Green Arrow”! This new Absolute title was announced at the DC All-In panel during San Diego Comic-Con 2025, along with numerous other exciting announcements. The comic series will consist of just six issues and is set to be a mini-series penned by Pornsak Pichetshote and illustrated by Rafael Alburquerque. Pichetshote, who has been an editor for some time now, is well known for his work on the comic series “The Good Asian.” Meanwhile, Alburquerque is a renowned artist recognized primarily for their contributions to “American Vampire” alongside Scott Snyder.

In contrast to Batman, who doesn’t possess wealth in the Absolute Universe, Green Arrow does. The new “Absolute Green Arrow” series emphasizes Oliver Queen’s affluence, delving into the lives of the wealthy in the Absolute Universe. DC has released a sneak peek of the upcoming title, showing Ollie dressed casually and using his bow and arrows. This mini-series is slated to premiere during spring 2026. Additionally, the DC All-In panel announced an upcoming crossover between Absolute Batman and Absolute Wonder Woman in “Absolute Wonder Woman #15”. The creators also shared details about the forthcoming DC Comics event comic, “DC KO”, as well as the “Absolute Evil” event in the Absolute Universe.

Absolute Green Arrow Is Coming 2026!

Superman (Absolute) has lived long enough to witness the demise of his home planet Krypton, carrying deep emotional scars from the event. Batman (Absolute) doesn’t have any financial resources. Wonder Woman (Absolute) is the sole surviving Amazon and was raised in harsh conditions akin to hell. The Flash (Absolute) finds himself without a guide or mentor, while Martian Manhunter (Absolute) isn’t an actual Martian but rather a psychological condition that makes its host see others’ memories as smoke.

Despite facing insurmountable challenges, the main theme in the Absolute universe revolves around heroes triumphing against overwhelming odds. In this universe, it seems as though all of creation is working against these heroes; however, they remain undeterred and continue their quest for a brighter future. From what has been hinted about the Absolute Green Arrow, Oliver Queen appears to be the least transformed hero in the Absolute Universe. He retains his wealth and iconic goatee as depicted in the previews. It’s suggested that Pichetshote will delve into the dark side of capitalist societies, portraying Oliver as a moral billionaire amidst a sea of corruption, profiting from others’ misfortunes and the planet’s degradation. With wealth gaps expanding rapidly, a comic focusing on the upper class feels increasingly pertinent in today’s society.
