Greta Gerwig & Noah Baumbach Make Rare Red Carpet Appearance

Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach have a great day every day—but this time we get to look at them.

At the Venice Film Festival on August 28, exactly two years after their wedding, the enigmatic partners behind Barbie made a seldom-seen public appearance on the red carpet for the premiere of Jay Kelly’s film.

In the upcoming movie directed and co-written by Greta’s husband, which stars George Clooney, Greta donned a striking one-shoulder black dress adorned with flowers and featuring a tulle train. This film’s director (who is also a Barbie director), sported her short blonde bob in a sleek back hairstyle and accessorized the look with a daring silver chain necklace and black high heels.

Regarding Ken, he chose a traditional tuxedo for himself. The couple, parents to Harold (age 6) and an unnamed 2-year-old child, exchanged subtle, sweet moments during their picture opportunities on the red carpet, frequently laughing and holding hands together.

Although Greta and Noah rarely exhibit their relationship publicly, they’ve been a couple since around 2010 when they first met on the set of “Greenberg.” Ever since their collaboration on “Frances Ha” in 2013, they’ve worked together on almost every film project they undertake.

Before the 2022 release of my “White Noise” film, I’d like to underscore the significance of the evolving professional and personal bond between the main characters in shaping my creative journey.

Noah discovered at the BFI London Film Festival that Greta was an exceptional writer. While he suspected she’d make a fantastic collaborator, he didn’t realize how much writing talent she possessed, particularly during her college years. He felt incredibly fortunate.

Furthermore, apart from taking on individual endeavors such as the forthcoming Narnia movie, Greta’s husband remains her most trusted associate.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I cannot emphasize enough the significant role he plays as my collaborator and influencer. I shared this sentiment with Vogue in 2019, shortly after our joyful reunion with Harold. To put it simply, his impact is absolutely pivotal in my life’s journey.

Greta often spends her off-set hours relaxing with Noah and their little one, jotting down thoughts, and sharing plenty of laughter together.
