Grit and Valor – 1949 Brings Dieselpunk Mech Warfare to Consoles and VR

Available Now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Epic Games Store, Meta Quest, and PS VR2

MilkTea Studio and publisher Megabit have unveiled their tactical roguelike game titled Grit and Valor: 1949 on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Epic Games Store, and the Nintendo Switch (with compatibility for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2).

Together with virtual reality experts nDreams, the game is now available for play on Meta Quest and PlayStation VR2 starting today. Support for Steam VR is set to be added soon as well. Good news for players who own the Steam version or plan to purchase on PS5 – they’ll get access to the VR mode at no extra charge!

Alternate History, High-Stakes Strategy

In a world unlike our own World War II, you lead a specialized team of mech operators, fighting against the superior forces of the Wicked Alliance. The battles unfold as quick, strategic engagements where each choice carries weight. Roguelike elements and challenging boss fights mean that each mission is unique.

In simpler terms, the VR variant turns the battlefield into an interactive 3D model. Players can manage their mech teams using motion commands, and they can even manipulate individual units to get a detailed view of the ongoing action.

Key Features

  • Evolved Real-Time Tactics: Face unique enemy waves and terrain in every mission.
  • Custom Mech Squads: Configure pilots and machines to match your playstyle.
  • Roguelite Replayability: Randomized battlefields and encounters keep every run fresh.
  • Four Regions: Fight across the British Isles, Scandinavia, Western Europe, and New Germany.
  • Immersive VR Command: Take control as a general and oversee battles from above with tactile, gesture-based gameplay.
