Gwyneth Paltrow doesn’t have great expectations when it comes to her unauthorized biography.
After staying quiet when Amy Odell’s biography, *Gwyneth*, was released in July, the Oscar-winning *Iron Man* actress finally gave her reaction in a single word.
She told *British Vogue* in an October 15th interview that Amy’s perception of her was “boring,” and added that Amy “totally missed everything – the truth of who I am and what my influence is.”
Even before Gwyneth Paltrow read the book herself, her husband of seven years, Brad Falchuck, had already finished it and shared his opinions with her.
My husband quickly read the article because I was curious about its content. He joked that it read like someone had fed every *Daily Mail* article into ChatGPT and asked it to write a biography of Gwyneth Paltrow.
He reportedly added, “‘It’s just bad. It’s really badly written.’”
Gwyneth was upset with how the media reported on the biography, especially since she felt it was written without much input from her.
“It was all rubbish,” she added, “the things that I supposedly said.”

Gwyneth wished Amy’s biographer had also written about other famous figures like Steve Jobs, Leonardo da Vinci, and Albert Einstein. This biographer also wrote a well-known biography of Anna Wintour, and all three of these other figures – Jobs, da Vinci, and Einstein – were also subjects of biographies by Walter Isaacson.
She found the situation deeply unfair, calling it “very sexist.” She questioned why the men involved were interviewed by Walter Isaacson, while she was assigned someone she considered less accomplished, saying, “Why do the men get Walter Isaacson and I get this hack?” Both she and the interviewer then laughed about it.
Amy admitted Gwyneth was right to point out she hadn’t coined the term ‘ghosting’ – suddenly cutting off all contact with someone you’re dating. She said, “That’s cool, I didn’t realize that. Okay, I stand corrected.”

TopMob News has reached out to Amy for comment but has not yet heard back.
Amy’s biography of Gwyneth relied on over 220 interviews with people who knew her well – including current and former friends and coworkers. The book aims to offer an inside look at Gwyneth’s life, covering her relationships, family, friendships, famous movies, and time running the company Goop.
