Gypsy Rose Blanchard is looking ahead to becoming a family of four.
After becoming a mother nine months ago to her and partner Ken Urker‘s daughter, Aurora, the 34-year-old shared that they were hoping to have a son.
“We haven’t finalized any plans yet,” Gypsy Rose shared with People in an interview released on September 30th. “We’re hoping to try IVF at some point soon, but currently, our main priority is Aurora.”
The author of My Time to Stand also explained more about why she and Ken chose IVF, stating, “It helps me avoid passing on my genetic condition, which is a microdeletion on chromosome 1q21.1.”
The couple had their baby girl tested for a genetic condition-described by the National Library of Medicine as a chromosomal alteration that “can lead to developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, physical differences, and neurological or psychological issues”-and revealed in April that she hadn’t inherited the specific genetic change.
And that process was part of the reason why they are looking to IVF for their future children.

The couple had their baby girl tested for a genetic condition-described by the National Library of Medicine as a change in chromosomes that can increase the chance of developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, physical issues, and neurological or psychiatric problems-and revealed in April that she hadn’t inherited the specific chromosomal difference.
And that process was part of the reason why they are looking to IVF for their future children.
She explained they were relieved Aurora’s test came back negative, but they couldn’t risk another pregnancy happening naturally. Therefore, IVF is their best course of action, allowing them to select the gender of their child. “We would like to give Aurora a baby brother,” she said.
Gypsy Rose welcomed her daughter in December, a year after finishing her prison sentence for her involvement in the 2015 murder of her mother, Claudine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. She has been sharing details about her life after spending eight years in prison, including what her mornings are like with Aurora.
Besides expanding her family, Gypsy Rose is also excited about reaching another important family milestone: marrying Ken.
However, before that can happen, her partner-who she reconnected with in 2024, after being separated for over five years and ending their previous engagement-needs to propose to her again. It’s a second chance at forever! This time, it’s official!
“When he proposes,” Gypsy Rose told People, “the answer will of course be ‘yes.'”
I’ve been following Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up closely, and back in April, Gypsy Rose told TopMob News that things with Ken were getting serious! She and Ryan Anderson-her ex-husband, who she divorced just weeks before her daughter was born-are definitely in the past. She said they were “moving in that direction” of getting married, which is so exciting to hear as a fan!
We don’t know the specific date yet, but it’s a major priority for us right now,” she explained. “It’s a shared family goal, and we’re confident it will happen eventually. So just keep an eye out for future announcements.”

In late March 2024, three months after her prison release, Gypsy shared that she and Ryan broke up.
I’ve been getting a lot of questions about what’s happening in my life,” she shared in a post on her personal Facebook page, as reported by People. “Sadly, my husband and I are separating, and I’ve moved back in with my parents at their home near the bayou.”
Gypsy had surgery to reshape her nose and correct a deviated septum on April 5, 2024. Her recovery and resulting changes to her appearance will be shown on Lifetime’s Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up.
According to court records obtained by TMZ, Gypsy filed for divorce from Ryan on April 8, 2024. This action occurred almost two years after they were married in prison in July 2022.
Around the end of April 2024, not long after starting divorce proceedings, Gypsy revealed she had reunited with her former fiancé Ken Urker. The next month, she confirmed their renewed relationship online, posting a TikTok video showcasing a collection of their sweet moments together.
In her video, Gypsy described her love story with Ken as “legendary.”
Oh my gosh, you guys, I was *scrolling through the comments* and someone – a total fan like me, who remembered all her stuff about her ex, Ryan – actually had the nerve to ask her something super inappropriate about Ken! But honestly? I was living for it! Gypsy responded *so* quickly and was totally honest – she didn’t hold back at all! It was amazing. I’m seriously obsessed with how real she is.
Gypsy tasted an In-N-Out Burger for the very first time – a Double-Double, prepared animal-style. She gave it a rating of 7 out of 10. In-N-Out Burger is known for its customizable options!
Gypsy described meeting Kim Kardashian, who has increasingly focused on criminal justice reform, as a “great honor.”
Gypsy described a woman as very kind and expressed gratitude for her willingness to speak with her, telling TopMob News host Keltie Knight that they had much to discuss regarding prison reform. She noted the woman’s significant contributions to the cause, adding, “It’s something I deeply care about, having experienced the system firsthand.”
Just under three months after starting the divorce process, Gypsy shared the news that she and her boyfriend, Ken, were going to have a baby.
She revealed in a July 2024 YouTube video that she is 11 weeks pregnant. “This wasn’t something we planned,” she explained, “it was a complete surprise.”
Gypsy showed off her meaningful new tattoos in July.
I was so thrilled for Gypsy and Ken when they had their sex reveal party back in August 2024 for their first little one! And then, at the baby shower in November, they finally shared the beautiful name they’d chosen: Aurora Raina Urker. It’s absolutely perfect, and I can’t wait to meet her!
Along with co-authors Melissa Moore and Michele Matrisciani, Gypsy shared the story of her life so far in her book My Time to Stand, published in December.
Gypsy gave birth to her first baby on Dec. 28, 2024, exactly one year after her prison release.
