Hailee Steinfeld Details Postpartum Recovery After Welcoming Baby

Hailee Steinfeld is making sure her postpartum journey is as pitch perfect as possible. 

More than a month after welcoming her baby girl with husband Josh Allen, actress Alexis Bledel has been sharing her experiences as a new mom and how she’s focusing on taking care of herself.

Hailee shared on her Substack newsletter, Beau Society, that her doula helped her understand the importance of postpartum nutrition. Specifically, her doula recommended focusing on warm foods to aid digestion and help her body absorb nutrients, based on principles from Ayurveda.

She shared a photo of the delicious albondigas soup her mom recently made for her, saying, ‘It’s one of those soups that’s as beautiful to look at as it is to eat.’

The actress, known for her role in Sinners, recently raved about The First 40 Days, a postpartum cookbook by Heng Ou. She said the book has really helped her as a new mother.

Hailee shared that the text deeply moved her. She specifically connected with a passage discussing the lasting vulnerability mothers experience even weeks after childbirth. While people readily acknowledge a newborn’s fragility, they often overlook the mother’s own need for care and understanding.

She’s adjusting to this new phase of her life and is being kind to herself during the process.

I’m still adjusting to this new phase, and I need to be really kind to myself – taking care of my body, mind, diet, and overall well-being.

During Paris Fashion Week, the actress from The Edge of Seventeen and her NFL player boyfriend were spotted on a date, both wearing similar khaki-colored outfits.

The NFL player publicly confirmed his relationship with his partner by sharing photos on Instagram, including a shot of them with the Eiffel Tower, on July 23rd.

Included in that same post, the “Starving” singer squeezed in for a photo with Josh’s family. 

Reporter Kay Adams, on her show Up & Adams, affectionately nicknamed him “Mr. Hard Launch.” When asked about his relationship with Hailee, he shyly responded, “We love love.”

Hailee and Josh announced their engagement on Instagram on November 29, 2024, with a photo of Josh proposing and Hailee accepting with a kiss. They revealed they got engaged on November 22, 2024, in the post’s caption.

 

Josh and Hailee quickly became a public couple, appearing together on the red carpet at the NFL Honors just months after getting engaged. While accepting his MVP award, Josh lovingly acknowledged Hailee in his speech.

He told her she was his biggest support and closest friend, explaining that he wouldn’t have been able to achieve this moment without her.

The couple exchanged vows in a beautiful California wedding. The bride wore a strapless gown with elegant elbow-length gloves.

The pair announced the birth of their first baby together on April 2.
