Halle Berry’s MCU Debut Teased by Avengers: Doomsday Star

Alan Cumming is hinting that another major X-Men character will be included in Avengers: Doomsday.

Marvel is currently making a new Avengers movie, titled Doomsday, with the Russo brothers directing. It’s expected to be released in 2026, and another Avengers film, Secret Wars, is planned for 2027.

What did Alan Cumming say about Avengers: Doomsday?

Alan Cumming recently told Entertainment Tonight that people are curious if Halle Berry will reprise her role as Storm (Ororo Munroe) from the X-Men in the movie Doomsday.

“Well. Maybe she does [show up],” Cumming answered. “Honestly, I’m the last person to ask.”

I was fascinated when Nischelle Turner from Entertainment Tonight playfully called Alan Cumming out for being the first to ask about something, considering he’d already let a few details slip about ‘Avengers: Doomsday’! He admitted she was right, and then confessed he’d actually gotten in trouble for talking about it before. He’s been trying to confuse people about what he said ever since, which I found hilarious and a little bit mischievous of him!

Actor Kodi Smit-McPhee accidentally revealed that his character, Nightcrawler, will have a fight with Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic) in the upcoming *Avengers: Doomsday* movie. He later explained that his publicist contacted him after the reveal, upset that he had spoiled a key plot detail.

It’s currently unclear if Halle Berry will return as Storm in the upcoming *Doomsday* film. She previously expressed interest in revisiting the role for *Deadpool & Wolverine*, but Ryan Reynolds, who plays Wade Wilson, didn’t end up asking her to participate.

Besides Alan Cumming, several other actors from the X-Men films are set to appear in Avengers: Doomsday. These include Kelsey Grammar as Beast, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.

Marvel Studios will release *Avengers: Doomsday* in U.S. theaters on December 18, 2026, followed by *Avengers: Secret Wars* on December 17, 2027.
