Paramount has revealed new cast members for its upcoming film, Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol, including Rupert Grint and Daisy Ridley, who will be joining Johnny Depp.
Rupert Grint, famous for playing Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter movies, and Daisy Ridley, who starred as Rey in the recent Star Wars films, are joined by Sam Claflin, Charlie Murphy, Arthur Conti, and Ellie Bamber in the cast, as reported by Deadline.
Hugh Grant is expected to star as Bob Cratchit, the employee of Scrooge. The rest of the cast hasn’t been announced yet.
According to the report, the new movie version of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, directed by horror filmmaker Ti West (known for Pearl and Maxxxine), will center on Johnny Depp’s portrayal of Scrooge as he takes a ghostly journey through time – confronting his past, present, and future – in a fight to redeem himself.
Andrea Riseborough (Oblivion, Mandy) was previously confirmed to be co-starring opposite Depp.
This marks the second movie adaptation of the book announced this year. Willem Dafoe will play Scrooge in the film, which will be directed by Robert Eggers for Warner Bros.

Johnny Depp’s role in ‘Ebenezer,’ a retelling of ‘A Christmas Carol,’ is set to be his most significant in several years, coming after his win in the 2022 defamation case.
The actor has slowly started appearing in public again, most recently with a role in the 2023 French film, Jeanne du Barry.
Johnny Depp is developing the character of Hyde for a new graphic novel alongside Ridley Scott. He’s also planning to produce, and possibly star in, an English-language version of ‘The Master and Margarita,’ with production anticipated to begin in 2026.
The actor is set to star with Penélope Cruz in the upcoming Lionsgate action thriller, Day Drinker, which is scheduled for release in 2026.
Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol will be released in cinemas on 13th November 2026.
