Harry Potter HBO Series Recasts Nicolas Flamel Role

One of the actors from the Harry Potter movies has spoken about being recast for the new HBO series based on the wizarding world.

Brontis Jodorowsky, who played Nicolas Flamel in the Fantastic Beasts film The Crimes of Grindelwald, recently commented on Instagram after news broke that Lambert Wilson will be taking on the same role in the upcoming HBO Harry Potter series. Jodorowsky has also appeared in films like The Last Duel, Mirage, and Bayonet. He shared his reaction, saying:

People often ask what I think about recasting characters. I believe stories are passed down through actors, with each one taking on the role like a baton in a relay race – similar to the ancient Greek messengers. I wish Lambert all the best. However, for me, Harry Potter will always look like Daniel Radcliffe.

I’m so excited about the new HBO Harry Potter series! It looks like they’re really going to explore Nicolas Flamel’s story, which I always thought was fascinating. They’re going to show us how he became the person we know, and even introduce his wife, Perenelle! It’s going to give us a much deeper look into his past, and I can’t wait to learn more about him.

In the world of Harry Potter, Nicolas Flamel and his wife, Perenelle, pass away after destroying the Philosopher’s Stone, which was the source of their immortality. Voldemort tried to steal the Stone, and Flamel chose to die peacefully after a long life rather than let it fall into the wrong hands. Later, in the Fantastic Beasts series, Flamel assists in the fight against Gellert Grindelwald.

A new Harry Potter TV series is scheduled to premiere in 2027. The show will star a fresh cast, with Dominic McLaughlin as young Harry, Arabelle Stanton as young Hermione, and Alastair Stout as young Ron. Returning favorites include Nick Frost as Hagrid, John Lithgow taking on the role of Albus Dumbledore, and Warwick Davis once again playing Professor Flitwick.

The first season will have eight episodes and is currently being filmed in the UK. HBO has explained that this series format gives them the freedom to go beyond the constraints of a movie, allowing for a more detailed and accurate adaptation of JK Rowling’s books.

The upcoming HBO series based on Harry Potter will be written by Francesca Gardiner, Laura Neal, and Martha Hillier. Mark Mylod, known for directing episodes of shows like Game of Thrones, Shameless, Succession, and the movie The Menu, will be directing the series.
