The popular HBO Harry Potter television series has recently finalized its cast for the Weasley family, officially revealing the identities of each member in the well-known ginger family.

Indeed, it’s worth noting that the Weasley family members portrayed in this household will include Tristan Harland as Fred Weasley, Gabriel Harland as George Weasley, Ruari Spooner as Percy Weasley, and Gracie Cochrane as Ginny Weasley.

2027 will see me gracing the screens in an exciting new series, which undoubtedly signifies a major breakthrough for this aspiring actor like myself.

In addition to the already declared ensemble, young talents Rory Wilmot and Amos Kitson will take on roles as Neville Longbottom and Dudley Dursley respectively.

In the upcoming production, Louise Brealey from Sherlock will portray Madam Rolanda Hooch, while Anton Lesser known for Andor takes on the role of Garrick Ollivander. Notable additions to the cast include John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer stepping into Minerva McGonagall’s shoes, Paapa Essiedu playing Severus Snape, Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, Lox Pratt portraying Draco Malfoy, and Johnny Flynn assuming the role of Lucius Malfoy.

In this collaboration, Francesca Gardiner will take charge as both writer and executive producer for the upcoming series. Meanwhile, Mark Mylod will serve as an executive producer and direct several episodes of the series, with production taking place jointly by Brontë Film and TV, Warner Bros Television, and HBO.

In certain circles, JK Rowling, author of Harry Potter, has faced criticism due to her opinions about transgender rights. During 2020, she released a comprehensive statement expressing her viewpoints on the discussion surrounding sex and gender – this essay drew criticism and disagreement from LGBTQ+ organizations like Stonewall.

J.K. Rowling has expressed her opinions publicly, such as in a 2024 post on what was previously known as Twitter, where she emphasized that she believes there are no children who identify as transgender, and she voiced opposition to the concept of a child being born in the wrong body.

As a passionate cinephile in May 2025, I found myself enthralled by the courageous actions of JK Rowling. She established the JK Rowling Women’s Fund, an initiative dedicated to providing legal aid to individuals and organizations who are staunchly defending women’s rights based on their biological sex. In essence, this fund offers a much-needed financial backing to those fighting for our inherent sex-based rights in the courtroom.

The actors who played Harry Potter characters, such as Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, have publicly disagreed with J.K. Rowling’s views and expressed their support for the transgender community. On the other hand, performers like Ralph Fiennes, Helena Bonham Carter, and Jim Broadbent have spoken up in defense of the author against the criticism she has faced.
