So, as a big Marvel fan, I was thrilled to hear Jeremy Renner – who plays Hawkeye, of course – talking about a possible Season 2! It sounds like there’s definitely a chance we could see more of Clint Barton’s adventures, which is awesome.
What did Jeremy Renner say about Hawkeye Season 2?
Jeremy Renner recently discussed a potential second season of Hawkeye on The Playlist’s Bingeworthy podcast. He previously mentioned a second season was planned but that he had to decline due to a disagreement over pay. However, in his latest interview, Renner seemed much more hopeful about the show’s future.
We’re making progress on season two,” Renner explained. “I’m confident I’ll recover enough strength to participate, and we’ll figure out the logistics. It’s going to be fantastic.”
Although details about a potential second season of Hawkeye are scarce, Jeremy Renner has hinted it would likely continue to be set during the holidays. He previously mentioned the show was originally conceived as a Christmas-themed story taking place in New York City.
Renner explained they always planned to continue the story for a second season, even incorporating a Christmas setting because fans really enjoy the New York backdrop. He feels New York is at its most beautiful during the Christmas season, and things feel a bit dreary afterward.
As a big Marvel fan, I really enjoyed Hawkeye when it came out in 2021. It stars Jeremy Renner reprising his role as Clint Barton, and introduces Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop – their dynamic was fantastic! The series was brought to life by creator Jonathan Igla, and directed by a team including Amber Finlayson & Katie Ellwood (who go by Bert and Bertie) and Rhys Thomas.
The show premiered to great reviews and brought back Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin. This ultimately paved the way for the majority of the original Daredevil cast to return for the new series, Daredevil: Born Again.
