With October here and horror movies becoming increasingly popular, it’s good to look at which streaming services are adding the most scary titles. This month, Peacock and Paramount+ had the biggest additions, but HBO Max also included a couple of well-known horror films, including a particularly great and intense sequel from the 1980s.
As a huge horror fan, I always say that *Evil Dead II* is one of those rare sequels that actually surpasses the original. *The Evil Dead* was a fantastic indie hit for Sam Raimi, but *Evil Dead II* really lets him go wild. It’s much more over-the-top, with Bruce Campbell getting to play Ash in a way that’s just completely bonkers and brilliantly gory. It really embraces the fun side of horror!
Fans of spooky movies are excited that *Evil Dead II*, the film that led to *Army of Darkness*, became available on HBO Max on September 1st. It’s quickly become a top pick for Halloween viewing. While it’s definitely not for the faint of heart, it’s a hugely entertaining horror experience. *Evil Dead II* remains a fan favorite, delivering thrills and laughs even after many viewings.
