The latest installment in this rebooted series is actually better than the first, but it’s only available to stream on HBO Max for a limited time – just one month. If you’re a fan, you’ll want to watch it within the next 24 hours, because it’s a really great series!
The 2014 film Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, a sequel to the popular Rise of the Planet of the Apes, will be removed from streaming services on December 1st. Set ten years after a deadly virus nearly wiped out humanity, the movie follows Caesar (played by Andy Serkis), a highly intelligent chimpanzee, and the growing ape community he leads in Muir Woods. When a small group of surviving humans forms their own settlement, Caesar must decide whether to protect his ape family at all costs or attempt to build a peaceful relationship with humans.
You Don’t Want To Miss This Reboot Classic
If you haven’t seen Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, or even if you have, it’s a movie you won’t regret watching. It boasts a fantastic 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and features a stellar cast including Gary Oldman, Andy Serkis, Keri Russell, and Jason Clarke. The film is visually stunning with beautiful cinematography and impressive special effects. According to JD Duran of InSession Film, knowing the story from the previous film, Rise, enhances the experience. Critic Richard Crouse praises the movie as a smart and thought-provoking exploration of themes like race, guns, and prejudice, cleverly disguised as an exciting action film.
Even after more than ten years, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is still a fantastic and engaging film. It’s a strong sequel that holds up beautifully, remaining both entertaining and thought-provoking – definitely worth seeing.
