Heated Rivalry season 2 gets update from star Connor Storrie – as co-star teases potential spin-off show

The LGBTQ+ hockey romance series, Heated Rivalry, has become incredibly popular since its release in Canada last year. Now available on Sky and NOW in the UK, it’s expected to gain a large and dedicated following here as well.

It’s no surprise that a second season was announced in December, and now Connor Storrie, who stars as Ilya Rozanov, has shared some news about how it’s coming along.

I was listening to Storrie on Today this morning, and it sounds like Jacob Tierney is still putting the finishing touches on the script. As for when we’ll actually see them start filming? Well, even Storrie isn’t sure of the exact date just yet, but it’s definitely on the horizon.

Craig Melvin from Today asked if filming could begin around summer 2026, and I heard Storrie say she thought that timeframe sounded about right.

This series is adapted from Rachel Reid’s Game Changer books. So far, the story of Ilya and Shane has been told in two books, with a third one planned for release later this year.

Despite this, there are many possibilities for future spin-offs. François Arnaud, who starred in Scott Hunter, has hinted that creator Tierney has considered a show centered around his character.

When asked about Scott’s future on Andy Cohen Live, he said there’s been a lot of discussion about different possibilities.

I’m getting bits and pieces of information about a possible side project centered around the character Scott, but the details are still unclear. I do know from the source material – the books – that Scott purchases a sports bar frequented by a character named Kip.

Arnaud explained he doesn’t have any current commitments, but he’s definitely open to returning in the future.

It reveals the burden he’s been carrying. The tone is a bit more heightened and leans into romantic comedy, and those elements work well together.
