The Olympic flame has never been quite this hot.
Actors Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie became official torchbearers for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina, carrying the torch through Feltre, Italy on January 25th as part of the Games’ promotional events.
In a recent leg of the torch relay—which began in November and will finish at the opening ceremony on February 6th—Hudson, 24, and Connor, 25, carried the Olympic flame while wearing identical white outfits. A video of their walk with the flame was shared on the official Olympics Instagram page.
The pair seemed to be warmly welcomed by the people of the town, who happily participated in the celebrations. When someone told Hudson, “Italy loves you a lot,” he touched his heart and responded, “I love Italy too.”
Oh my gosh, you guys, Connor totally noticed how much we were cheering! I saw this clip on Milano Cortina’s Instagram, and he was just, like, genuinely surprised by the size of the crowd! He said, ‘It’s a lot of people!’ It was the cutest thing ever, knowing he could feel all our support! I swear, he’s the best.
The event was a clear reference to the Crave and HBO Max series, based on the novel by Rachel Reid, where actors Hudson and Connor played rivals Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov during the 2014 Sochi Olympics. Although the actors weren’t competing for real medals, Hudson seemed genuinely moved by the symbolic relay, excitedly saying, “This is crazy.”

Since the popular hockey romance first appeared, Hudson and Connor have been adjusting to their unexpected celebrity. For Connor, who is Canadian, this change has largely been a good thing.
He admitted to Zuri Hall on Live from TopMob: Golden Globes 2026 on January 11th that while he wasn’t intimidated by the event’s size, he was stressed about the sheer number of emails piling up in his inbox. He said a full inbox really bothers him.
Okay, so Connor actually told everyone that seriously cutting back on screen time is, like, totally key to staying sane and, you know, himself. It’s so smart, honestly! I’m trying to do that too, inspired by him, of course. It just makes so much sense that getting off your phone and stuff helps him stay grounded – it’s brilliant!
He explained that he avoids reading online comments and spending too much time online because algorithms are designed to show you more of what you already consume. He worries this could lead to an unhealthy focus on himself, saying it’s not natural to only see content related to you. He prefers to stay active and be careful about where he directs his attention.
