Heated Rivalry’s Hudson Williams Reacts to GF Rumors, Show Criticism

Hudson Williams’ patience for internet gossip is on thin ice.

The actor from Heated Rivalry responded after the series, which airs on Crave and HBO Max, received criticism. The issue arose on the Deux U podcast hosted by gossip blog Deuxmoi, where some listeners claimed they were only watching the show for its explicit portrayal of a gay romance between hockey players.

During the December 19th podcast episode, one of the hosts commented that they didn’t think the acting was very good. Their co-host responded that viewers weren’t tuning in for the performances anyway.

The hosts reportedly discussed private information sent in by listeners about Hudson, including rumors that the 24-year-old actor—known for playing hockey player Shane Hollander on a Canadian TV show—is dating a tattoo artist. They also mentioned that Hudson and his co-star, Connor Storrie, allegedly got matching tattoos with the phrase “Sex Sells.”

Later in the podcast, the cohost mentioned that fans noticed, through the Deuxmoi newsletter, that Hudson Williams is reportedly dating someone. She clarified that this information came from fans, not from anything she knew directly.

After a clip from the podcast appeared on Instagram, people online strongly criticized the speculation. Even Hudson himself responded, leaving a comment on the post before it was taken down.

“You know what,” he wrote on the post, per Variety, “I’ve grown quite unfond of you deuxmoi.”

Many people, both fans and critics, have commented on the strong connection between actors Hudson and Connor, who play rivals in the show. This has led to speculation about their sexual orientations, though neither actor has publicly confirmed how they identify. Hudson has acknowledged this attention as simply part of being a public figure.

He told Deadline in a recent interview that he always knew if he became famous, maintaining a private life would be his top priority.

Hudson agreed that it’s important for LGBTQ+ people to share their own stories, but he also stressed that his relationship with Connor, who is 25, was a unique and special bond.

He added that he and Connor have a close, physical bond as best friends, and they enjoy showing that affection.

Connor has also intentionally kept his personal relationships private, wanting to make sure the attention stays on the strong connection between Shane and Ilya.

He told Vulture in an interview published December 22nd that he was proud to portray a character who resonated with so many people, making them feel seen and understood. He added that this impact was more important than his personal relationships.
