Hello Kitty has had a packed year! Fans enjoyed the launch of Hello Kitty Island Adventure on Switch and PC in January, and it’s now available on PS5 too. This life simulation game has been popular with both Hello Kitty fans and players of Animal Crossing. A new mobile game also came out, along with the charmingly simple Hello Kitty and Friends: Freeze Tag Party just last month. And there’s more to come – another Hello Kitty game is scheduled to release this December!
The new Hello Kitty game is a unique experience for fans! Called Hello Kitty Skyland, it’s the first virtual reality social game in the Hello Kitty series. It will be available in Early Access on Meta Quest starting December 22nd, letting players interact with Hello Kitty and her friends in VR – and it’s free to play if you have a Meta Quest headset.
Hello Kitty Skyland Brings Sanrio Characters to VR This December
Hello Kitty Skyland is a new virtual reality game where players can enter a world filled with Sanrio characters. It’s designed as a social experience, letting Hello Kitty fans connect and play together. Players can create and customize their own human-like avatars to explore Skyland, and while the avatars aren’t animals like in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, lots of adorable Sanrio characters will be around!

Hello Kitty Skyland will be free to play, even after it leaves Early Access, though players will have the option to buy things within the game. When the game launches in December, it will include a central online hub where players can access all the main features planned for the full version. These features include the “Sky Dash” racing game seen in the trailer, as well as a system for customizing your character’s outfits. Players will likely be able to purchase these outfits and costumes to dress their character as popular Sanrio characters while exploring Skyland with friends.
Thirdverse hasn’t announced the official release date for Hello Kitty Skyland yet. However, they plan to listen to player feedback during the Early Access phase and add new features before the full launch. If you’re interested in helping create the first social VR game set in the Hello Kitty Universe, be sure to check it out starting December 22nd.
Hello Kitty Skyland will be available to play for free on Meta Quest 2, 3, and 3S. Players can start exploring in Early Access beginning December 22nd, and the game will be updated regularly before its official launch.
