New Tales Publishing and Artefacts Studio have revealed Terrinoth: Heroes of Descent, a fantasy tactical RPG inspired by Fantasy Flight Games’ Descent tabletop game. The game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (via Steam) this spring, and a demo is available to play on PC right now.
Bruno Chabanel, CEO of Artefacts Studio, shared that creating the game felt like a big honor and a lot of fun for fans of Descent. With Terrinoth: Heroes of Descent, the team aimed to recreate the excitement of a classic dungeon crawl board game as a tactical RPG for computers and consoles. They wanted a game that was easy to learn but offered plenty of strategic depth, with numerous ways to build your team and discover new combinations, all while offering a cooperative multiplayer experience that captures the original board game’s atmosphere.
New Tales CEO Cedric Marechal shared his excitement about the project, saying it perfectly combines beloved characters, compelling stories, and engaging gameplay – everything the company strives for. He expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with Artefacts Studio and Asmodee, and looks forward to both existing fans of the Descent tabletop game and new tactical RPG players experiencing a fresh way to become heroes in the world of Terrinoth.
