One benefit of a PC game eventually coming to consoles is that you get a better idea of whether it’s actually good. Waiting can be frustrating, but you can read reviews on platforms like Steam first. In fact, a game’s success on PC often makes a console version possible. Dragonis Games, the publisher of The Shore, recently announced that their new Lovecraftian horror game, slated for 2025, will be released on both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Necrophosis is a mind-bending psychological horror game inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. Originally released on PC in April 2025, the game quickly gained a ‘Very Positive’ rating on Steam thanks to its intriguing puzzles and mysterious story. Now, the developers at Dragonis Games are teaming up with PQube to bring a complete edition of Necrophosis, including new downloadable content, to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Horror Adventure Necrophosis Gets New Complete Edition for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam

Currently available on PC, Necrophosis is a unique game that blends exploration with cosmic horror, all wrapped in a visually striking package and a truly unsettling story. Players will be drawn into its mysterious world, piecing together the narrative by solving puzzles and uncovering secrets. Steam reviews highlight its thoughtful, Lovecraftian horror and the way the environment itself tells the story. While praised for its beautiful graphics, many players have noted the game is relatively short, and a new downloadable content pack aims to address that.
The release of Necrophosis: Full Consciousness on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S isn’t just a console port – it also includes a brand-new downloadable content (DLC) pack. Called Necrophosis: Subconsciousness, the DLC introduces new locations, creatures, and even more frightening experiences for players to discover. Owners of the original game on Steam will receive the DLC as a separate purchase. While the developers haven’t revealed the exact length of the new content, it’s expected to expand upon the existing 2-3 hour gameplay offered in the Steam version of Necrophosis.
Whether you’re new to Necrophosis or have already played it on Steam, the Full Consciousness trailer reveals what’s coming in the new DLC and console releases. You can watch it below, if you’re brave enough!
A longer, detailed trailer for the upcoming downloadable content will be released on March 2nd. You can watch it live at 1:15 PM Eastern Time on the Dragonis Games YouTube channel. The DLC will be part of the Full Consciousness version of the game when it launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A complete edition of the game, including the DLC, will also be available on Steam for players who don’t currently own the original game.
PS5 players will have access to a physical copy of Necrophosis: Full Consciousness, which will only be available on that platform. This special edition also includes another Lovecraftian horror game from Dragonis Games called The Shore.
We don’t know the exact release date or price of Necrophosis: Full Consciousness yet, but it’s planned to come out in 2026. If you’re interested in trying the game before the new downloadable content (DLC) arrives, the base game is currently available on Steam for $15.99.
