The main actors for ‘Gone,’ a new six-episode thriller by the creator of ‘Hijack,’ George Kay, have been revealed. The series will star two well-known actors.
This intense psychological drama is coming to ITV and ITVX, with Richard Laxton directing. David Morrissey and Eve Myles are set to star in the series.
The new series, ‘Gone,’ is a suspenseful mystery set in Bristol, England. It centers around Michael Polly, the headmaster of an exclusive private school, who is investigated as the main suspect when his wife, Sarah, goes missing. The story unfolds against the atmospheric settings of the school, a nearby ominous forest, and the city of Bristol itself.
Michael Polly is a respected and orderly man, known for his precision at work. But his carefully constructed life is disrupted when he meets the determined and insightful Detective Annie Cassidy (Eve Myles), and a thrilling game of pursuit begins as she tries to uncover what he’s hiding.
A tense atmosphere hung over everything, but Polly remained strangely calm, which only made Annie more suspicious as she dug deeper. Annie had a strong feeling something was wrong and couldn’t shake the thought that he might be capable of murder – but what would be his motive?

The show draws some inspiration from the book To Hunt a Killer, co-authored by retired police detective Julie Mackay and ITV crime reporter Robert Murphy, who both advise on the series.
Emma Appleton, known for her role in “The Road Trip,” will play Alana, the daughter of Sarah and Michael, who also happens to be a teacher at the school. The cast also includes Jennifer Macbeth, Arthur Hughes, Nicholas Nunn, Elliot Cowan, Billy Barrett, Rupert Evans, Jodie McNee, Oscar Batterham, and Clare Higgins.
Eve Myles expressed her excitement about portraying Detective Annie Cassidy in the upcoming drama ‘Gone,’ which was written by George Kay.
Annie is a compelling character – she’s perceptive, brave, and doesn’t put up with nonsense. But she’s facing a real challenge with Michael Polly, a powerful opponent brought to life by David Morrissey. I’m thrilled to be working with director Richard Laxton, and I’m excited for audiences to finally see what we’ve created.
Morrissey also expressed his excitement about working with George Kay and the team at New Pictures again, and collaborating for the first time with Eve Myles and Richard Laxton.
I’m thrilled to be collaborating with ITV and New Pictures once more on a new police drama, following our successful work together on the true crime series, The Long Shadow, said Kay.
Gone will air on ITV and STV and will be available for streaming on ITVX and STV Player.
