Zach Cregger’s latest horror movie, “Weapons,” is now showing in cinemas, and it’s receiving outstanding praise from both critics and viewers, leading to substantial earnings at the box office. It seems that “Weapons” may outperform the entire global earnings of Cregger’s previous successful film, “Barbarian,” during its opening weekend. This movie is undoubtedly one that horror enthusiasts will be keen to own on Blu-ray. To cater to this demand, Warner Bros. is offering a special 4K Blu-ray Steelbook edition, in addition to standard 4K Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD versions. At the moment, pre-orders are available on Amazon, Walmart, and GRUV. It’s worth mentioning that GRUV has already run out of the Steelbook, which could be a hint of things to follow.
Since the Blu-ray release of Weapons has just hit the market, there’s no confirmed launch date or details about its special features yet. But we anticipate it will be out by November at the earliest. This article will be updated as soon as more information is available. In the meantime, you might want to think about purchasing the newly announced Blu-rays for 28 Years Later, The Conjuring, and the extensive Nightmare On Elm Street 7-film 4K Blu-ray box set to gear up for Halloween 2025.

Discussing with Comicbook at SDCC 2025, Cregger shared his thoughts on how ‘Weapons’ stacks up against ‘Barbarian’:
During an interview with Comicbook at SDCC 2025, Cregger offered insights into the comparison between ‘Weapons’ and ‘Barbarian’.
In terms of structure, Cregger believes that ‘Weapons’ is more intricate than ‘Barbarian’. Although both movies have unique structures, ‘Barbarian’ can be confusing and frustrating for viewers when it changes direction. On the other hand, ‘Weapons’, when it shifts and evolves, seems to build momentum, keeping the audience engaged and never detaching them from the story.
Instead, it seems like, ‘Alright, here we are, ready to proceed. Let’s tackle this and find a solution,’ he continued. So, I believe I have significantly altered the underlying concept, which I think better serves the intended experience.
When every child from a single class suddenly vanishes at the exact same moment on the same night, a town is left wondering about the culprit or cause behind these mysterious disappearances.” The movie boasts an impressive ensemble cast that includes some stars from the Marvel Cinematic Universe such as Julia Garner, Josh Brolin, Benedict Wong, and Alden Ehrenreich. In addition, Cary Christopher, Amy Madigan, June Diane Raphael, Austin Abrams, and Jason Turner are also part of this talented cast.
