A recent update to *Hogwarts Legacy* introduced a significant new feature for some players, but many fans of the popular *Harry Potter* game have been left feeling disappointed. *Hogwarts Legacy* was a massive success, even surpassing *Call of Duty* in sales during 2023 – a rare feat. While the game continues to be enjoyed by a dedicated player base, particularly for a single-player title, many feel the support it’s received since launch hasn’t been up to par.
Honestly, it’s been pretty disappointing how little support Hogwarts Legacy has gotten *after* it launched, especially considering how huge the game was. It feels like Avalanche Software moved on to making a sequel pretty quickly, and that’s probably why. The biggest example? We’ve been asking for New Game Plus since day one, and it *still* hasn’t arrived! They said back in 2024 they were *talking* about it, but we haven’t heard anything since. It’s weird because they *did* just add support for the new ROG Ally handheld, which is cool, but it feels like they’re focusing on the wrong things when so many of us are still waiting for core features.
New Game Plus and Console Mods
Avalanche Software recently posted an update about their game on X (formerly Twitter), and fans are overwhelmingly requesting two features: New Game Plus and the ability to use modifications (mods) on consoles.
Fans are eager for updates on console modifications and a New Game Plus feature. One fan asked when console mods will be available, while another simply requested them. A third fan expressed their continued anticipation for New Game Plus.
Although the number of requests isn’t huge, players consistently ask for two things in particular. Sadly, Avalanche Software hasn’t responded to either request. While there’s still hope for a New Game Plus feature, the developer has never mentioned bringing mod support to consoles. Given how often these features are requested, it seems likely they’re being considered for the next game, which is expected to release towards the end of the current PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X generation, and the beginning of the next generation of consoles.
