Enthusiasts of the critically praised game Hollow Knight will be thrilled to know that its eagerly awaited sequel is about to drop – it’s coming out in a matter of hours! After enduring six years of development, Hollow Knight: Silksong has officially set its release date for September 4, 2025.
The creators of the show have revealed that the game will be available for purchase on PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox platforms, as well as personal computers (PC).

It’s noteworthy that the announcement of Silksong’s release date led at least 8 independent games to postpone their launches, as they were concerned about being eclipsed by Silksong upon its release.
Developer Ysbryd Games agrees with this sentiment.
The post reads: “Our primary objective is to increase the visibility of Demonschool, and that’s why the Ysbryd team is convinced that getting involved in situations where the water is obviously dangerous isn’t beneficial for our game.

It’s quite clear that they’re up against a formidable opponent, namely Silksong. However, this could potentially work in their favor. Not only will their game be eclipsed by Silksong’s release, but the delay in launching allows them some extra time to fine-tune their own games a bit more.
Developer FrogTeam expressed in a Bluesky post that they felt as small and vulnerable as a krill, trying hard not to be swallowed by a massive blue whale.”
Or in an even more casual way:
“FrogTeam in their Bluesky post compared themselves to a tiny krill trying hard to avoid being eaten by a big blue whale.
Although much excitement surrounds the upcoming Hollow Knight: Silksong, what truly captures attention is its affordable price. Team Cherry announced the game’s price, a surprising $20 – a mere $5 more than its sequel! Reflecting on this, it’s worth noting that the original Hollow Knight game launched 8 years ago.
Despite debates in the gaming world escalating and video game prices becoming excessively high, Team Cherry and Silksong are standing out by bucking the trend.
