Team Cherry has confirmed they’ll be releasing a special video update for “Hollow Knight: Silksong”, the Metroidvania game they announced more than six years back. This announcement is set to air on August 21st at 7:30 in the morning Pacific Time (PT) or 10:30 in the morning Eastern Time (ET).
As Gamescom Opening Night Live approaches and host Geoff Keighley hinting at the game’s appearance, fans have been eagerly anticipating a possible release date reveal during the event. However, according to Jason Schreier from Bloomberg, the release date will not be unveiled at the show. It is still uncertain if this “special announcement” will serve as an update, given that Team Cherry has confirmed a launch before the holiday season.
The game titled “Hollow Knight: Silksong” is currently being worked on for platforms such as Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Nintendo Switch, and a yet-to-be-revealed Nintendo Switch 2. It’s also scheduled to debut on Game Pass on its release day. Attendees at Gamescom can get hands-on experience with the game from August 20th to 24th at the Xbox and Nintendo booths. Keep an eye out for further updates, including possible gameplay footage, in the following days.
Contrary to Geoff Keighley’s hints, the release date for Silksong won’t be disclosed during the Gamescom Opening Night Live.
