Hololive’s Usada Pekora Just Got Canned After 7 Years – And That’s a Good Thing

The most popular VTuber, Pekora, is releasing her own canned drink! She’s partnering with Japanese liquor company Meiri Shurui to create Hyakunen Umeshu Pekora Can, a light plum wine perfect for enjoying while streaming or relaxing.

The company created two potential flavors during development: one inspired by lactic acid drinks and another with honey and ginger. Pekora chose the honey ginger flavor for the final product. Meiri Shurui explains the drink offers a pleasant sweetness balanced by a noticeable ginger flavor, designed to be refreshing while watching streams or videos.

Pekora’s Plum Wine Collab Gets Official Canned Release

Pekora and Meiri Shurui first connected in 2019 when Pekora tasted Hyakunen Umeshu on a livestream. Her honest and excited reaction to the plum wine became a fan favorite, and ultimately inspired Meiri Shurui to propose an official partnership based on that very moment.

I was so excited when Pekora collaborated with Hyakunen Umeshu! It started with the original Hyakunen Umeshu Pekora Ver. back in November 2020, and then a really special, premium version – Hyakunen Umeshu Pekora Special – came out in February 2026. Those earlier ones were classic plum wine in a bottle, but this new release? It’s in a can! They’re really aiming for something more relaxed and easy-to-enjoy with this one, and I think it’s a fantastic way to keep the collaboration going.

Aoki Ume, who also designed the artwork for Pekora’s previous drink collaborations, created the can’s design once again. The new illustration shows Pekora in everyday clothes, fitting the collaboration’s more laid-back feel. Aoki celebrated the release of the “Hyakunen Umeshu Pekora Can!” and playfully noted that its lower alcohol content meant even she could enjoy it without trouble.

Beyond working with others, Pekora remains a leading figure in the VTuber world. She’s famous for her unpredictable and funny livestreams, competitive gaming, and her unique way of speaking, adding “peko” to the end of sentences. Since joining hololive in 2019, she’s become one of the agency’s most recognizable personalities. In February alone, people watched her streams for a reported 6.57 million hours, making her one of the most-viewed VTubers globally that month. Her official YouTube channel, “Pekora Ch. 兎田ぺこら,” currently has around 2.77 million subscribers.

Hololive Production, run by COVER Corp., is a leading virtual entertainment agency. It’s become a major force in the VTuber world thanks to its large group of talents who create diverse content, including gaming streams, music performances, concerts, and variety shows.

Pekora’s Hyakunen Umeshu, a pack of eight cans, will be available for purchase online from Meiri Shurui starting May 29th. The price is 5,500 yen, which is about $35.
