The popular visual novel series Danganronpa, created by Spike Chunsoft, has now sold over 10 million copies worldwide.
The popular franchise recently marked its 15th year and has now achieved a significant sales record, adding to its success.
The Danganronpa games are built around the visual novel format, but they also include features like exploring environments, getting to know the characters, and solving mysteries in dramatic trials where you have to figure out who committed the crime.
The first game, Trigger Happy Havoc, follows a group of students who are trapped in their school and forced to participate in a dangerous game. To win and escape, they have to kill one of their classmates and successfully convince everyone else they’re innocent during a trial.
Subsequent games expanded upon this foundation by introducing new characters and storylines. The series has become very successful, spanning multiple games and related projects.
Danganronpa 2×2 is the newest game in the Danganronpa series. It’s a remastered version of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, and it includes extra content.
