Fans of Hope Street will be happy to hear that season 5 is coming to BBC One sooner than anticipated, and a release date has now been officially confirmed.
Fans of the popular Northern Irish police drama will be pleased to know it’s coming back to BBC One on Friday, October 31st, 2025. It’s a particularly fitting date, as the show is known for its suspense and the premiere falls on Halloween.
For those eager to watch, all episodes of season 5 will be released on BBC iPlayer as a complete set even sooner than expected – they’ll be available starting Monday, October 27th.
Season 5 will also mark a milestone for the TV series as it will see the show’s 50th episode.
Hope Street is a police drama set in the small, coastal town of Port Devine, Northern Ireland. The series follows the officers as they deal with a range of cases – from minor crimes to serious organized offenses – and navigate their connections within the close-knit community.

Since it first aired in 2021, the show has gained a large and devoted following. Viewers have connected with the show’s characters and enjoy its comforting, relaxing feel.
The show is adding some new actors this season. Cameron Cuffe, who has appeared in shows like The Halcyon and Everything I Know About Love, will play Constable Donal Gallagher, a police officer whose rugby career ended prematurely due to an injury.
I’m so excited to see Cuffe working with Jenn Murray! She’s incredibly talented – you might recognize her from big movies like *Maleficent*, *Star Wars: The Last Jedi*, and *Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them*. It’s fantastic to see such a skilled actress joining the project.
Dr. Sasha Cookson relocates to Port Devine to run her father’s former medical clinic, and unexpectedly develops a connection with the town’s new police officer.
Good news for fans who were wondering: the main actors – Kerri Quinn, Tara Lynne O’Neill, Aaron McCusker, and Niamh McGrady – will all be back for season 5.
The returning cast includes Marcus Onilude as Luke Jackson, Finnian Garbutt as Ryan Power, Katie Shortt as Brandi McClure, Eleanor Methven as Lois Dunlop, Paddy Jenkins as Seamie McCarthy, RhéAna Kamalu as Chloe Jackson, and Jonny Grogan as Ross Dunlop. That’s quite a few familiar faces!
Season 5 of Hope Street will premiere on BBC One on Friday, October 31st, 2025. You’ll also be able to watch all episodes on BBC iPlayer starting the same day.
