Horizon Hunters Gathering Is Guerrilla’s Next Big PS5 Game, Horizon 3 Still Years Away

According to Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier, the majority of Guerrilla Games is now focused on developing their recently revealed co-op game, Horizon Hunters Gathering, rather than the next main installment, Horizon 3.

This is the studio’s most ambitious project to date, and it will take a significant amount of time to complete. The next single-player game in the series won’t be released until after this one is finished, meaning it’s likely several years away. It’s possible the game could even launch on the PlayStation 6.

Journalist Schreier, responding to questions on Bluesky, indicated that Horizon 3 is likely still a long time away. He stated that the majority of the development team is currently focused on Horizon Hunters Gathering.

This aligns with earlier reports from Jason Schreier about upcoming Horizon games, where he identified Horizon Hunters as Guerrilla Games’ next major project.

The Horizon series began with Horizon Zero Dawn on PlayStation 4 in 2017, and continued with Horizon Forbidden West in 2022. Since then, the franchise has expanded with several other releases, including a virtual reality game for PSVR2 called Horizon Call of the Mountain, a remastered version of the original game for PS5, and a LEGO adventure. Beyond PlayStation, there are also Horizon games developed for PC and mobile devices – Horizon Steel Frontiers and the newly announced Horizon Hunters Gathering.
