Jennifer Lopez couldn’t wait to find out who won at the Golden Globes 2026.
Jennifer Lopez almost accidentally announced the winner of the Best Male Actor award in a Musical or Comedy film while presenting at the Golden Globes ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on January 11th. (Check out photos of all the stars on the red carpet here.)
She addressed the audience at the award show, hosted by Nikki Glaser, saying, “Let’s find out who gave the funniest or most musical performance!” She quickly added, “But seriously, everyone here was incredible this year, and it’s going to be really hard to pick a winner.”
Just as she began to open the envelope, she remembered she hadn’t announced the nominees for the award. They were Timothée Chalamet for Marty Supreme, Leonardo DiCaprio for One Battle After Another, George Clooney for Jay Kelly, Ethan Hawke for Blue Moon, Lee Byung-Hun for No Other Choice, and Jesse Plemons for Bugonia.
J.Lo wished everyone well, then announced, “And now, the nominees are…”
In the end, Timothée won the award for his performance as Marty Mauser, the main character and a table tennis player.
The 30-year-old performer acknowledged his fellow cast members – Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A’zion, Tyler, The Creator, Fran Drescher, and Kevin O’Leary – with a shout-out from the stage. This marked O’Leary’s first time acting in a role, appearing in the sports comedy-drama.
He joked that if someone had told him at age 19 he’d be thanking Kevin O’Leary – known as ‘Mr. Wonderful’ from Shark Tank – he would have been completely surprised.

Timothée also acknowledged his girlfriend of three years, Kylie Jenner, who mouthed “I’m so happy” from the audience.
“For my parents, for my partner, I love you,” he added. “Thank you so much.”
Leo, the other nominee, wasn’t upset at all. In fact, he was seen congratulating Timothée as Timothée went back to his seat after winning.
“Dude, I’m studying,” Timothée told the three-time Golden Globes winner. “I’m studying you, man.”
