At the 2026 Critics Choice Awards on January 4th, the actress from The Big Bang Theory arrived wearing an outfit reminiscent of one Jennifer Aniston famously wore to the Golden Globes in 2002.
I’ll never forget when Jennifer Aniston wore that outfit! It was so daring – trousers and a black blazer, but she didn’t wear anything under the blazer, showing off a really low neckline. The blazer itself was cropped, which made it even more striking. She completed the look with pointy black heels, a big black clutch, and styled her hair in a messy updo – her dirty blonde locks looked amazing! It was such a confident and iconic moment.
More than 20 years later, Kaley recreated a previous look with a modern update for 2026. While she previously wore a cropped blazer, this time she and stylist Brad Goreski chose an oversized one. She still kept the daring style by wearing it with nothing underneath, letting her black bra show through.
At the January 4th event, hosted by Chelsea Handler, Kaley Cuoco wore the top with wide-leg trousers, a small black clutch—even smaller than Jennifer’s from a previous year—pointy heels, a bold silver choker, and an updo hairstyle. To clear up any doubt about whether Kaley Cuoco’s outfit was a tribute to Jennifer Aniston, she shared a side-by-side comparison of both looks on Instagram after the Critics Choice Awards.
She captioned the series of Stories, “When @jenniferaniston is your mood board.”
Kaley explained even more about her outfit in a social media post, detailing how she and her stylists created the look.
She explained that she wanted to recreate a look she’s always admired, putting her own unique twist on the hair, makeup, suit, and jewelry. She was inspired by an iconic woman and wanted to pay homage to a style she loves.
Kaley also made sure to acknowledge her date, husband Tom Pelphrey, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his work on Task. Tom looked sharp in a classic all-black suit, coordinating with Kaley for the event.
