And the Grammy milestone goes to…
The Recording Academy revealed the nominees for the 2026 Grammy Awards on November 7th. Although the awards show isn’t until February, some artists are already being recognized for their achievements.
Consider Kendrick Lamar, for instance. His nomination for Album of the Year for GNX marks a historic achievement – he’s the first rapper to be nominated five times in this category as the main artist. Even more impressively, he’s the first solo artist ever to have five consecutive studio albums nominated for this award.
Kendrick Lamar led this year’s Grammy nominations with nine total, and he also made history. For the first time ever, three rap albums – Kendrick’s GNX, Clipse & Pusha T & Malice’s Let God Sort Em Out, and Tyler, The Creator’s CHROMAKOPIA – were nominated for both Best Rap Album and Album of the Year.
Rosé and Bruno Mars’ song “APT.” has earned them nominations for Record of the Year and Song of the Year at the Grammys. This makes Rosé the first K-pop artist to be nominated as a lead performer for one of the four biggest Grammy awards – also including Album of the Year and Best New Artist.
In addition to being nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, “APT.” has become the most Grammy-nominated song ever by a Korean artist or K-pop group.
The K-pop song “Golden,” featured in the Netflix animated film KPop Demon Hunters, is up for Song of the Year. This is a first for a virtual group since Gorillaz received a nomination in 2006.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m so excited about the upcoming Grammy Awards! They’re making some fantastic changes, including two brand new categories. Music lovers will be thrilled to see a ‘Best Traditional Country Album’ category – Willie Nelson and Luke Nelson are both nominated, which is amazing! And for the visual fans, they’re now recognizing incredible album artwork with a ‘Best Album Cover’ category. Artists like Tyler, the Creator and Bad Bunny are in the running for that one, and I can’t wait to see who takes home the prize. It’s a really great move recognizing all aspects of musical creativity!
The 68th Annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast live on CBS on Sunday, February 1st, 2026, from Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena.
