The recent Wake of the Water update for Enshrouded introduced realistic water physics, opening up exciting new building possibilities – like creating your own waterfall!

This is a fantastic way to get comfortable with the new features. It’s also a simple project with plenty of room to personalize it, making it a great addition to your base.

In this quick guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to make your own waterfall.

How to Build a Waterfall | Enshrouded: Wake of the Water

To build your own waterfall, you’ll first need a Water Dispenser. You can make one at the Workbench using 4 Iron Bars. The crafting recipe becomes available as soon as you obtain your first Iron Bar.

You’ll need either one Floor Drain or one Wall Drain, and we recommend the Wall Drain. You can make either of these at a Workbench using either one Stone or one Iron Bar. They look a little different, but work exactly the same.

Okay, so now that I’ve got the hang of the basic tools, I need to pick a good place to build my waterfall. Basically, I’m going to reshape the land to make a high point where the water will start, and then create a pool at the bottom where it all flows into.

Terrain can be easily sculpted using blocks. When you remove blocks placed on the land, the terrain adjusts to create the shape you want. For example, a simple waterfall should be formed by shaping the land before adding water, as shown above.

Once you’ve designed everything how you like, head to the top of the waterfall – that’s where the water will originate. Place a Water Dispenser there, and then adjust its direction so the water flows correctly towards your pool.

Now, head to the pool below the waterfall. Place one Wall Drain at the highest level you want the water to rise to – this will stop the area from flooding! You can also use a Floor Drain, but keep in mind the pool will be a bit shallower if you do.

You should now have the main structure of your waterfall built! Now you can add details to make it look exactly how you want. But you’ve got the basics down – you know how to create a waterfall in Enshrouded!
