In Death Stranding 2, the emphasis is strongly on exploration through travel, yet it doesn’t overlook the concept of rapid transportation. It might take some time to activate, but the swift travel feature in this game enables you to move promptly between crucial facilities. This function is particularly useful for initiating deliveries, although it’s not ideal for completing them! Stay tuned as we delve into the details of fast travel in DS2.
How To Fast Travel | Death Stranding 2
Upon finishing Mission 12 of the main plot, you’ll discover the option for swift travel becomes available. At that moment in the narrative, a message will inform you that the “DHV Magellan” can now move more freely at locations you’ve previously visited and connected to the Chiral Network.
Once that introduction is over, feel free to jump into the DHV Magellan and reveal your world map by pressing the Options button. From here, simply press and hold the X button to set your course according to the game’s initial instructions.
Next, simply navigate to your desired location using the directional pad (left and right) or by moving the cursor with the left joystick. Once you’ve hovered over your chosen facility, just press X to set off for that destination. You’ll be whisked away instantly on the DHV Magellan!
Keep in mind that by employing this swift transportation system, you can also move cargo for delivery. However, be aware that doing so will decrease your ratings and make it difficult for you to earn S ranks. If you’re aiming for maximum rewards, we suggest making deliveries the old-fashioned way. It would be wise to opt for a vehicle rather than using fast travel for such tasks.
In the course of my gaming experience, I’ll discover additional rapid travel options like Hot Springs and Transponders, but they come later and don’t allow for carrying cargo. For the majority of the game though, the DHV Magellan remains the most practical and convenient fast travel choice!
It’s slightly more efficient compared to the original game, but it continues to present challenges when utilized for deliveries.
