How to find and defeat the Ice King in Fortnite

Now that Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 is here, you’re probably looking to conquer all the challenges and bosses. We’ve got a guide to help you find and defeat the Ice King, and we’ll also tell you what kind of loot he drops!

The biggest addition in the new update is the Showdown Battle Pass. Plus, a new game mode called Fortnite Arenas will be released later in April.

Fortnite is adding two new characters: Tung Tung Tung Sahur and Ballerina Cappuccina, known for their appearances in the popular Roblox game “Steal a Brainrot” and the Fortnite version of the same concept. They’re often associated with a unique, quirky style referred to as “Italian Brainrot.”

You’re probably here to learn how to defeat the Ice King and Lady Windfrost, so let’s get right into the strategy!

Where is Ice King in Fortnite?

As a big fan, I’ve discovered that Ice King and Lady Windfrost are usually hanging out in the main courtyard of the Frigid Fortress! You can find them patrolling up in the northern part of the island, so that’s where I always head when I want to see them.

Many players will likely head to this spot, so we suggest landing on top of the tower. You’ll be able to gather gear faster, and you can collect more items as you make your way down towards the Ice King and Lady Windfrost.

While you’re moving forward, other players might be attacking the Ice King or getting defeated by them. Be sure to watch the Ice King’s health bar as you go.

How to defeat Ice King in Fortnite

Okay, so I’ve figured out the Ice King. The key is to strip away his shields fast. I’ve been using an SMG or pistol for that, just rapid-fire ’em down. Once those shields are gone, then I switch to something with more punch – an assault rifle or shotgun – to really finish him off. It’s way more effective than trying to blast through the shields with a big gun right away.

The Ice King’s gloves are very strong, so stay behind cover to avoid his icy attacks and especially his powerful Ice Bomb.

Lady Windfrost will be in the boss battle, but you don’t need to worry about attacking her directly. She’ll be defeated automatically when you beat the Ice King.

While quickly moving between cover, we chose the Rare Chaos Reloader Shotgun because it was ready to fire almost immediately after each shot.

Soon enough, the King was dead.

What loot does Ice King have?

Beating the Ice King will reward you with the Mythic Ice King’s Gauntlets, which are a powerful asset during gameplay.

You start with 100 bullets and have two attacks: a standard Ice Attack that does 50 damage, and an Ice Bomb. The Ice Bomb covers a wide area, freezes enemies, and continues to deal damage over time.

We especially liked using Ice Bombs to force players out of hiding during the late game when they were already low on health. This made it much easier to finish them off.

The Ice Bomb uses 3 units of ammo and has a 15-second cooldown. It’s most effective to use the Ice Bomb first, then follow up with the Ice Attack.

We found Gauntlets, a Chug Jug, gold, and some ammo. Other players have also reported finding a Self-Revive Device.

Lady Windforst dropped a Rare Thunder Burst SMG and a Chug Splash.
