Crimson Desert became available worldwide on March 19, 2026. This open-world adventure takes place in the land of Pywel and puts you in the role of a mercenary where money – specifically silver and copper coins – is essential. You’ll use it to buy better gear, health potions, expand your storage, and improve your campsite. You start with copper coins (100 copper equals 1 silver), and later you can earn gold bars (worth 500 silver each) to access more advanced banking options.
The beginning of the game can be a little rough financially, but there are several reliable ways to quickly earn silver, even from the very first town of Hernand. This guide details all the main methods for making money fast – from simple early-game tricks and collecting resources, to fighting enemies, playing mini-games, and setting up income that earns money while you play. All these methods are legitimate ways to earn silver within the game, and don’t involve any cheating or real-money transactions. To maximize your earnings, try combining different approaches, and remember to increase your inventory space by completing side quests or buying 50-Copper bags from merchants so you can carry more valuable items.
1. The Fastest Early-Game Method: Rob the Hernand Bank (30–55+ Silver in Minutes)
Many players believe this is the fastest way to earn money when you first start the game. It’s easy to do and you can keep doing it, as the resources needed reappear every couple of days.
Steps:
- Buy a Mask (10 Copper) and Key (30 Copper) from the Back Alley Merchant (Grimrak) southeast of the cathedral or behind the farmhouse east of Muckroot Ranch.
- Equip the mask (hides your identity for crime mechanics).
- Head to the bank on the north side of Hernand.
- Enter the locked storeroom door on the left (use the key; close the door behind you).
- Loot strongboxes on the far wall first, then scattered chests. Watch the Theft meter in the top-right—stay unseen to avoid fines.
- Exit, unwrap loot in your inventory (random but lucrative), and sell extras.
You can earn 30 to 55 Silver per quick playthrough, along with extra items and equipment. Strongboxes offer the best rewards, but it’s a good idea to save your game before opening them. If you don’t like the results, you can simply reload your save!
Here’s a helpful tip: Taking items that don’t belong to you slightly lowers your Hernandian Contribution, reducing it by 5 experience points per item. You can easily earn this back by completing side quests or bounties. This allows you to get new gear early in the game!

2. Free Gathering: Red Croton Flowers (Hundreds of Copper/Silver Fast)
No combat or risk required.
You can find it about 1,000 meters southwest of Hernand, near the first fast-travel point in the woods. Activate the fast-travel point by standing on the designated platform. Use Guiding Light (press L1+R1 on PlayStation or LB+RB on Xbox) to help locate it.
Pick stacks of 50 flowers (one inventory slot). Insects in the fields add extra copper. Sell everything to any merchant. Flowers regrow slowly (~1 in-game week), so revisit periodically. Return to Hernand via the northern fast-travel point or skydiving from the Chapter 1 sky island.
This alone covers basic needs for hours and pairs perfectly with bank runs.
3. Mining Ores & Diamonds (Reliable 30–60+ Silver per Run)
Requires the pickaxe from the early “Rhett’s Request” side quest.
- Diamonds (2.28 Silver each, 6–8 per deposit): Hernand Highlands Cavern (west of Unicorn Cliff), crater southeast of Howling Hill, or deeper caves south-west of Demeniss.
-
Scolecite/Azurite (1.03 / 0.95 Silver each, ~6 Silver per cluster): Along the road north toward Varnia.

4. Bounties & Purple Markers (Easy Money + Loot + Inventory Slots)

5. Looting Enemies + Coin Purses (Passive Silver Everywhere)
Okay, so if you want to make some quick cash in this game, here’s what I’ve figured out: just go around defeating enemies – bandits, goblins, even animals! Then, sell any broken weapons or armor you find, along with any other junk, to the shopkeepers. And here’s a neat trick: instead of selling coin purses one by one, just open them directly in your inventory and use the ‘Use All’ option – instant money! It’s way faster.
A powerful strategy involves starting faction quests that generate continuous waves of enemies, like at Fort Perwin. By completing the faction bar down to 0%, you can repeatedly fight and loot these waves, then quickly travel to a vendor to sell your items. If you can manage your inventory space, this method can provide a huge and almost limitless source of silver early in the game.
6. Mob Farming: Fundamentalist Goblins (Crude Devil Masks)
Go to Sunrise Plains, which is south of Greymane Camp in the Howling Hills. As you travel, you’ll encounter groups of “Fundamentalist Goblins” – ride past them on your horse.
These enemies drop Crude Devil Masks, which sell for about 13 to 14 Silver each. It’s efficient to quickly travel to a merchant after each encounter to sell them. This is a good way to earn Silver repeatedly after you’ve left Hernand.

7. Mini-Games & Gambling (Low-Risk Profits)
- Archery (north of Hernand, 80 Copper entry): Replay rounds for 70 Copper–1.2 Silver profit each.
- Duo / Five-Card (Inn room in Hernand or later towns): Bet smart, accuse cheaters, save-scum weak hands. Can triple your buy-in (15–300 Silver) in 10–15 minutes.
8. Mid/Late-Game Passive Income: Bank Investments & Trading
- Open a bank account (100 Silver, works at every bank).
- Buy/convert a Gold Bar (500 Silver).
- Deposit and choose risk level: Low (0–2% profit), Medium (15–20%), High (50–55% but possible loss). Change strategies every 15 days.
Construct a trading wagon at Greymane Camp and profit by buying and selling goods between regions where prices differ.
Pro Tips to Maximize Earnings
- Inventory Management: Prioritize faction quests and merchant bags. Sell learned recipes immediately.
- What to Keep vs. Sell: Hang onto high-value crafting materials or unique drops; sell everything else (broken gear is pure profit).
- Fast Travel: Unlock bells and sky islands early—saves hours.
- Save Scumming: Manual saves before RNG chests or gambling are free insurance.
- Crime Caution: Masks enable stealing but tank local reputation. Balance with contribution-restoring quests.
- Progression Priority: Spend early silver on gear and healing first—better combat = faster looting.
You can quickly build wealth within Hernand territory using these strategies. Begin by robbing banks and selling flowers for a fast start, then expand into mining, completing bounties, and establishing goblin farms. The game’s economy is engaging and offers satisfying rewards, particularly after unlocking camps and investment opportunities.
Have fun with Pywel—take control and earn rewards as you play! For any updates or changes after release, be sure to check the official announcements or community forums. Good luck and enjoy the game!
