Microsoft has increased the cost of the Xbox Game Pass and fans are… let’s say perturbed.
This October, the popular tech company will raise the price of its gaming subscription service by as much as 50% for both current and new members in the UK.
We now offer three levels of membership: Game Pass Essential, Game Pass Premium, and Game Pass Ultimate.
Plans now begin at £10, £14.99, or £22.99 per month, and each includes benefits like unlimited cloud gaming and access to new games as soon as they’re released.
We’ve got a full explanation of Xbox Game Pass available, but if you’re looking for ways to get the most for your money, here’s a quick guide.
How to save on the Xbox Game Pass in the UK

To get the most value from Xbox Game Pass, it’s best to buy a longer subscription upfront. In the UK, retailers like Loaded, Argos, and Currys often offer deals on 3-month and 12-month memberships, which work out cheaper than paying monthly.
Currently, the subscription prices haven’t been updated yet, so you might be able to get a better deal if you sign up quickly for a full year. As of right now, the best price for the Ultimate subscription is £124.99 for 12 months or £32.99 for three months at Loaded, which works out to a little over £10 per month.
Get it as a Mobile Network add-on
You can also save money by adding Xbox to your current phone plan. Major UK mobile networks – including EE, O2, and Vodafone – offer Xbox Game Pass as an add-on, with plans beginning at around £17 per month.
This is a convenient and affordable way to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass, as it combines all your payments into a single, easy-to-manage bill.
