How to set up Connectors in Copilot for Windows 11 — search across Microsoft and Google services with natural language

The Copilot app on Windows 11 has a feature called Connectors that allows it to work with other apps and services, letting you get more done.

Copilot can currently link to a few services, like Microsoft and Google accounts. This includes access to files in OneDrive and Google Drive, as well as email from Outlook and Gmail, and your Google Calendar and Contacts.

After connecting your services, the chatbot can find files, emails, and other information quickly, all without needing to switch between apps. This guide will show you how to use Connectors to let Copilot access your other services on Windows 11.

How to set up Copilot Connectors on Windows 11

To configure Copilot access to other services, use these steps:

  1. Open the Copilot app.
  2. Click the profile menu and select the Settings option.

  • Quick note: If you don’t see the menu, click the button in the top-left to open the left pane.
  1. Click on Connectors.
  1. Turn on the OneDrive toggle switch to allow the chatbot access to the cloud storage.
  • Quick note: This option may already be turned on. You won’t have to provide your credentials, because you’re already signed in with your Microsoft account.
  1. Turn on the Outlook toggle switch to give Copilot access to your emails and calendar.
  2. Click the Connect button for Google Drive, Gmail, or Google Calendar.
  1. Click the Continue to Google button.
  1. Confirm your Google Account credentials to complete the connection.

After you finish setting things up, Copilot will be able to find information online and work with your files, emails, and calendar to give you helpful responses.

Copilot is designed to understand everyday language, so you don’t need to memorize special commands. Just ask what you need, like “Show me the latest emails from John Smith,” “What did I edit last week?” or “Can you find John Smith’s contact details?”
