Mystery Gifts are now a common feature in Pokemon games, offering players free items and even rare Pokemon. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet gave away a lot of freebies, and Pokemon Legends: Z-A is continuing that tradition. It seems like these gifts will be valuable, especially since a new Mystery Gift is available starting November 6th. This gift will help players unlock a special Mythical Mega Pokemon to add to their team.

Unlike some Mystery Gifts that instantly give you a Pokémon, getting Diancie takes a little extra effort. When you redeem this gift, you’ll receive a Diancite, a special item. How to Redeem the Latest Mystery Gift in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

Okay, so if you want to unlock the quest to catch Diancie in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, you’ve gotta grab the latest Mystery Gift first. It became available on November 6th, and as far as I know, there’s no end date for it, which is awesome! Here’s how you redeem those Mystery Gifts in the game – it’s pretty straightforward.

First, update your game to the latest version by installing the newest patch for Legends: Z-A. Then, start the game and press the X button to access the main menu. Scroll down and choose Link Play from the options.

From the Link Play screen, find and select the Mystery Gift option. Clicking this will open a menu where you can choose “Get via Internet.” Your Switch or Switch 2 will connect to the internet and save your game, then display a list of available Mystery Gifts.

To obtain the Diancite, choose the option that says Shine Bright Like a Gemstone. You’ll see a special animation, and then a message confirming you’ve started a new side-mission and received 1 Diancite. You’re now ready to begin the mission and catch your Mythical Pokémon!

How to Get Diancie in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

Once you’ve received the Mystery Gift, you’ll need to start and finish the side quest called “Shine Bright Like a Gemstone” to catch Diancie. You can only begin this quest after completing the main story – so make sure you’ve seen the credits first! Then, you can go to the Looker Bureau to start the quest and catch Diancie.

Once inside the building, you’ll see a quest marker over Mimi the Espurr. Talk to Mimi to start the “Shine Bright Like a Gemstone” quest. If you need assistance, the in-game guide can provide helpful tips. This quest involves following Mimi through Lumiose City as it searches for the psychic energy radiating from your Diancite.

You’ll eventually reach a rooftop battle against Diancie and two Carbink. To add Diancie to your team, you’ll need to catch it during the fight. Be careful – even if you defeat it, you might not be able to catch it, so keep throwing Poke Balls throughout the battle! It can be tough to catch, so using status effects to weaken it is a good strategy. Make sure you have plenty of strong Poke Balls ready. Once you successfully catch Diancie, you can use the Diancite you obtained to Mega Evolve this rare Pokemon.
