How to watch The Boys universe in order
The Boys season 1

Season 1 of The Boys launched the series with a shocking look into a world of flawed superheroes, extreme violence, and disturbing behavior.
The season began by introducing Hughie Campbell, a regular guy whose life was shattered when his girlfriend was accidentally killed by the superhero A-Train. Driven by grief and a desire for justice, he teamed up with the enigmatic Billy Butcher and his group, known as The Boys, to fight against the corrupt and powerful Homelander and his superhero team, The Seven.
We also kept up with Annie January, known as Starlight, a fresh face on The Seven who soon discovered that being a superhero wasn’t as glamorous as she’d imagined.
This season was a total game-changer for me! It finally revealed that Vought was behind all the supes, creating them with Compound V. And the biggest shocker? Homelander actually has a son… with Butcher’s wife! Talk about a twist I didn’t see coming.
The Boys season 2

Season 2 of The Boys introduced Stormfront, played by Aya Cash. The show later revealed she was the very first person successfully given Compound V, and that she was a hateful extremist with connections to the Nazi party. Her relationship with Homelander made him deeply upset when she was badly injured and scarred.
Butcher’s wife Becca was also killed, leaving her son Ryan in his protection.
It turned out Victoria Neumann, who seemed to be a Supe with explosive abilities aiming to expose Vought’s wrongdoing, was actually working towards completely different goals.
The Boys Presents: Diabolical

As a huge fan of ‘The Boys,’ I was really excited when they announced this animated anthology series. It only lasted for one season, which was a bummer, but each episode told a completely new, standalone story all set within that same crazy universe. It was a cool way to explore different corners of the world and characters we hadn’t seen much of before.
Each episode features a unique animation style and was written by a different creative team. The writers and creators involved include Awkwafina, Garth Ennis, Eliot and Ilana Glazer, Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, Simon Racioppa, Justin Roiland with Ben Bayouth, Andy Samberg, and Aisha Tyler.
Only three episodes – Nubian vs Nubian, John and Sun-Hee, and One Plus One Equals Two – directly continue the show’s main storyline. All other episodes are considered to take place in separate universes.
The Boys season 3

In the third season of The Boys, the team learned that Soldier Boy, a superhero presumed dead for years, was not only alive but had been held in a frozen state in Russia.
After being released, he initially seemed like a potential ally against Homelander, but his behavior was unpredictable. It was later discovered he was actually Homelander’s father, though he considered his son a letdown. Ultimately, he was contained and held captive again by the end of the season.
Butcher and Hughie began using Temp V, a substance that temporarily granted them superpowers. At the same time, Starlight officially left the superhero group The Seven, and Queen Maeve, a prominent member, went into hiding, leading everyone – including Homelander – to believe she was dead.
Gen V season 1

This show, a spin-off set in a university, follows a group of young superheroes at Godolkin University as they discover a hidden program to create a virus that can eliminate people with superpowers.
The first season concluded with a violent clash between superpowered individuals and humans on campus. Marie, Andre, Jordan, and Emma tried to prevent the conflict, while Cate and Sam were responsible for starting it.
When the season finished, Homelander showed up and changed everything. Marie and her friends were arrested, while Cate and Sam were celebrated as heroes.
The Boys season 4

In the fourth season of The Boys, Butcher tried to find the supe-killing virus featured in Gen V. Meanwhile, Homelander controlled Neuman, who was gaining ground in the presidential election.
Butcher was gravely ill from abusing Temp V, and in a desperate act, he used the genuine compound and killed Neuman, despite her promise to assist The Boys in stopping Homelander. He then escaped with the virus, intending to eliminate all superheroes, including himself.
Homelander, aided by the new member of The Seven, Sister Sage, strengthened his control and essentially became president, imposing his authority nationwide. This included taking Hughie, Mother’s Milk, Frenchie, and Kimiko into custody.
Gen V season 2

The second season of Gen V is now available, and it follows Marie, Jordan, and Emma as they return to Godolkin University after escaping captivity. They’ll discover a new Dean named Cipher, who claims to help every student reach their full potential as a superhero.
The group will reconnect with Cate and Sam, though the meeting might be a little awkward. They’ll then stumble upon a puzzling new case involving something called Project Odessa.
